As the first quarter winds down, there are many exciting updates to the gifted program! We have been serving children in math, science, and reading - along with fifth graders learning the research model Independent Investigation Model (IIM). Quite a busy schedule, but it enhances our students and school. Please blog, send an email or call if you have any questions about the program.

Fifth graders are fully immersed in their Interactive Investigation Model. Several students are taking this extra early morning class so they will be able to help classmates with their exhibition projects that will begin to be completed after science fair is complete. Each student is completing an Energy Project; learning research and documentation skills.
All other grade levels are busy working their way through September. We will begin Science Olympics and Science Fair projects in most Welcome back to school! What a fantastic start to the year. We are already teaching in classrooms - such a smooth transition this year! This year classes will have the co-teach Gifted model for math and science. I can't wait to begin learning science with an incredible book of experiments and discussions!
The Math program has been successful and teachers are learning how to continue to develop its role within the Sunshine State Standards. Send a message to let us know how the beginning of your school year began.... |
AuthorMrs. Desmond is a Teacher of the Gifted in grades 1 - 5. She co-teaches math and science with one teacher in each grade level. I enjoy this role and am always seeking new ideas to help enrich and extend our Sunshine State Standards. Mrs. Desmond with friends in the Japanese Tea Garden this summer in San Francisco, California!
